August 2018

Ben (Ch/Int Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) and Annie (Ch Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) have now had their Champion status confirmed by the Kennel Club. They, plus Ninja (Banana Bender Juicy Fruit Yarraman (Imp Ita)) and Conte (Banana Bender Conte De Cavour) have been tested for PLL status and I am very pleased to report that they are all clear of the condition.

June 2018

On 24th of June we headed to Blackpool and District Championship Show. What a change in the weather from last week, today it very hot. Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) was so hot she was on fire and took Bitch CC, her third, so, at the tender age of 20 months, she is now a CHAMPION. Ben (Ch/Int Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was Reserve Best Dog and Ninja (Banana Bender Juicy Fruit Yarraman (Imp Ita)) was second in a strong Open Bitch class. We are so very grateful to our judge Mr Karl-Erik Johansson (Sweden) for our placings today and, as ever, to Andi Horwood for her handling expertise.

The weather was not great at Border Union this year with torrential rain on our way up and back. We had been warned though to dress for summer and winter, so we were prepared! Our judge today was Mr Gary Gray. We only had the two girls, Annie and Ninja with us. Ninja (Banana Bender Juicy Fruit Yarraman (Imp Ita)) was first in Open Bitch and Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) was first in Limit Bitch. Annie then went on to take the Bitch CC and Best Of Breed. She is only 20 months old, so this was both a surprise and a delight. Annie now has 2 CCs. We could not stay for the group but the judge understood why we couldn't do this, and, frankly, with such a young bitch it was unlikely she would have done much against the more mature competition. Our thanks to the judge for his placings for which we are very grateful.

We had a lovely day at Three Counties Championship Show under Mrs Julie Swann, which made up for having had to leave at the crack of dawn. Our Ben (Ch/Int Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) took the Dog CC and Best Of Breed. Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) was first in Limit Bitch. Ninja (Banana Bender Juicy Fruit Yarraman) was 2nd in Open Bitch and Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) was 1st in Veteran Bitch and went on to take the Bitch CC. Thank you to Andi for showing the youngsters, and how chuffed I am that it was me who was showing Grace to her win! Over the moon! Grace was only there because she gets so excited when she knows a show day is in the offing and then so disappointed when she doesn't get to come along with us. She should be retired but quality never fades nor her love of showing off! Thank you Mrs Swann for these results.

This award to Ben restored him to Champion status here in the UK. In 2017 he had been stripped of awards due to a complaint made by someone who is probably miserable in their own life and wants to create the same for others. The complaint revolved around some errors in the recording of his breeder(s) in catalogues, not all of our making I should say. This led to Ben losing awards he had received whilst in our ownership and, bizarrely, when he was exhibited here but still belonged to Paulo and Simona Coletta, which seems grossly unfair. However, we decided to get Ben his title back and in a short period of time we had. You can't keep a good dog down!

May 2018

A trip up to Scotland for SKC show at Ingliston where our judge was Mrs J. Peak. Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was 2nd in Open Dog and took the Reserve Dog CC. Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) was first in Limit Bitch. Thanks to Mrs Peak for these placings.

March 2018

Crufts! Our thanks to judge Mr Keith Baldwin for our placings. Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was (rightly) placed 3rd in the Open Class as he has been carrying a soft tissue injury and was not moving as well as he is capable of. This was Grace's (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) swansong and she is now permanently retired from the showring. She was second in Veteran Bitch. Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) was first in a strong Junior Bitch class. And the icing on the cake was that we met us with good friends (thanks especially to Wendy for making the journey she so hates!) and picked up our new dog, Banana Bender Juicy Fruit Yarraman (Imp Ita) (known as Ninja) from Massimo Cusan.

September 2017
We were delighted when at Richmond our Judge, Mr Kari Jarvinen (Finland), gave the Bitch CC and also Best Puppy award to our baby, Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)). Annie has certainly had a fabulous start to her showing career! Thank you to the judge, Andi Horwood for showing her for us and our friends for taking Annie when we couldn't manage on the day.

August 2017

We had a good day at the Welsh Kennel Club under Australian judge, Joanne McCann, with our girls. Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip (Imp Ita)) was, same as her last outing, Best Puppy and Reserve Best Bitch. Another cracking result for our 9 month old baby, we were very pleased with her performance. Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) was Best Veteran. Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was also with us but only made 2nd place in Open Dog today. Thanks to Andi for her expert handling and to the judge for these placings.

July 2017

On 15th of July we set off for National Working and Pastoral Breeds Society Show where our judge was Mr Jeff Horswell. Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) took the Dog CC and was then Best of Breed. Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) was Best Veteran and Annie (Banana Bender Yarraman Hot Gossip) (Imp Ita) was Best Puppy and Reserve Best Bitch. Our thanks, as always, to Andi for her sympathetic handling. Also, gratefu thanks to the judge for these placings.

Thank you to Andi Horwood for her exemplary handling and to the judge for these placings.

March 2017

We were incredibly honoured to be asked if our Grace (
UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) could come to Crufts as an exhibit for the International Junior Handler competition on the Saturday. I do not believe an ACD has ever been invited to take part in this competition before. Grace, as usual, was brilliant and the first handler, Lisa Pocs from Hungary, fell in love with her ~ she can be seen in the Youtube video kissing Gracie on the top of her head - aaaaahhhh!

It was a very long day on the Saturday but Grace pulled out all the stops the following day in the breed classes where she was 1st in Veteran Bitch and
RESERVE BEST BITCH in breed. Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was placed 4th in a strong class of 15 entries. Our thanks to the Judge, Miss Haapaniemi, for these placings.

Congratulations also to Jenny Wright who with a daughter of our Conte, Millbelle Whole Lota Rosie, was first in Limit Bitch and, of course, we were delighted that Paulo and Simona Coletta's
ITA/HR/NL/E/B/DK/INT CH Banana Bender Anna La Regina was both Bitch CC winner and also Best of Breed.

January 2017

A great start at our first show of 2017 at Manchester under Judge Mr Graham Hill. Our Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was first in Open Dog and followed this up with BEST DOG and BEST OF BREED. Our thanks to Andi Horwood for the good job she did of showing Ben for us.

December 2016

Off we went to LKA where Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was first in Open Dog of the Any Variety Pastoral Not Separately Classified classes and then went on to take BEST DOG under Mr Tan Nagrecha (Chandlimore). . Also in the Av Pastoral NSC classes Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) was first in Veteran Bitch and went on to be placed BEST VETERAN. Thank you to Mr Nagrecha for these placings.

November 2016

Congratulations to Morag Slaven and Kevin Wilkie for their BEST OF BREED placing at Working and Pastoral Breeds of Scotland on 5th November with IR CH Yarraman Frankl For Dartbrook IR JUN CH under Judge Mrs K. Angier. I thought the last time I saw Frankie that he looked fabulous.

October 2016

A wee trip to Midlands County Canine Show at the end of October. No ACD classes, so we were in Any Variety Not Separately Classified Pastoral. Our judge was Mr Albert Wight and we thank him for the RESERVE BEST BITCH he gave to Gracie (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) after her placing in Open Bitch behind the Best Bitch and Best Of Breed winner. Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was third in a class of Champions, and, given the very strong competition, we were delighted with that. We continue to be so pleased with the placings we have been receiving this year.

September 2016

Last weekend in September found us at Driffield where, under Judge Mr Peter Radley, our Grace (
UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) was first in Open Bitch, then took the Bitch CC followed by BEST OF BREED. We were very pleased that she was then shortlisted in the Pastoral Group under Mr Mike E. Taylor. Thanks to both judges.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Andi Horwood for the exemplary job she makes of showing our dogs and for the support and friendship she has extended to us. Our relationship has gone far and beyond that of a business one, she is part of the Yarraman family and we know she always will be.

Off to City of Birmingham Canine Association Show where we had entered Ben (
Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) and Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) in Any Variety Pastoral Not Separately Classified under judge Mrs E. Stannard. Ben won Open Dog and Grace won Veteran Bitch. Ben then won BEST DOG and Grace won RESERVE BEST BITCH. Ben followed this with BEST OF BREED and Grace was BEST VETERAN.
Our grateful thanks to Mrs Stannard for these placings.

At Richmond Show it was Gracie's turn to shine. She was first in Open Bitch, then was
BEST BITCH and BEST VETERAN and to top it all she was then BEST OF BREED. Well done to UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA) and thanks to Andi for the great job she does of showing her. Our grateful thanks to Mr Rui Oliveira, our judge from Portugal for these placings. Grace is looking fantastic and certainly belies her years, she can fairly power round that ring! Ben was second in Open Dog today.

August 2016

What a fantastic day we had at Welsh Kennel Club on 20th of August. Our judge was Mr P. Lawless who awarded our Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita) DOG CC and BEST OF BREED. Our UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA) was RESERVE BITCH CC and BEST VETERAN. Grace was then placed GROUP 1 in the Veteran Pastoral Group under Mr Jeff Luscott. Congratulations too to Paulo and Simona Coletta for their Bitch CC win with Ch Banana Bender Anna La Regina. Thanks to the judges for these placings. It was a great day for Yarraman and Banana Bender!

July 2016

Further exciting news from Italy that our Ch Yarraman Pollyanna on 17th July at IDS Fermo took the CAC, CACIB and BEST OF BREED under Manolo Poggesi and then a GROUP 3 placing in the FCI's Group 1 (Sheep Dogs and Cattle Dogs) under Alfredo Allessandri. Our thanks to Gianlucca Micozzi for his excellent handling and Paolo and Simona Coletta for campaigning her.

Fantastic news from Italy that our Ch Yarraman Pollyanna (currently holidaying in Europe) at her first show, in Italy (NDS CINGOLI), was awarded EXCELLENT GRADING, CAC & BEST OF BREED. Thank you to Paolo and Simona for looking after her so well and Gianlucca Micozzi for a great job in handling Polly.

Another day out for Ben (
Ch/Int Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) and Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) at East Of England Agricultural Society Show under Mrs J. Peak. Ben was BEST DOG and BEST OF BREED with Grace as BEST OPPOSITE SEX. Our sincere thanks to both the judge and handlers. Seems there was an error with the way Ben's entry was shown in the catalogue, it was reported to the Secretary by another exhibitor, but it was not of our doing and we were not penalised.

June 2016

We were delighted to hear from Simona Coletta, who bred Ben, to say that she has had notification from the FCI that he is now an International Champion. We are so pleased for Paulo and Simona and thankful to them for allowing us to have this outstanding dog.

26th of June and we set off for Blackpool & District Canine Society Show. Our judge was Mrs Julia Swann, who chose Ben (Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) as her BEST DOG and BEST OF BREED and our Grace (UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA)) as BEST OPPOSITE SEX. Into the group Ben went, under Miss Dianna Spavin, where he was awarded his 2nd GROUP 3 placing in as many weeks! Our most grateful thanks to the judges who awarded Ben his 3 CCs over the last few weeks, which have made him up to UK CHAMPION.

On 18th of June we travelled up to Border Union Agricultural Society Show where our Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita) was shown under Mr Ian Blackshaw. Ben was 1st in Open Dog, then BEST DOG which gave him his 2nd CC and then was placed BEST OF BREED. Off we went to the Group ring where Mrs Meg Purnell-Carpenter was judging and we were over the moon to receive a GROUP 3 placing. Thank you to the judges for these placings.

We had a lovely day at Southern Counties Canine Association under Mr Ralf Campbell from Norway. Mr Campbell chose our
Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita) as his BEST DOG and BEST OF BREED and UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA) as his BEST OPPOSITE SEX and BEST VETERAN. Grace went on to take a GROUP 4 in the Pastoral Veteran Group under Mr Lee A. S. Cox. Thank you to judges for these placings.

On 11th of June we went to Three Counties Championship Show where our judge was Ms S. Hewart-Chambers. We were over the moon when Ben (
Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita)) was awarded BEST DOG and gained his first CC. He was then awarded BEST OF BREED and, just to follow that, he was pulled out in the group for the last 9. UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA) had a good day too, winning the RESERVE BITCH CC. Our grateful thanks to the judge for these placings.

May 2016

Off we went to National Dog Show at Stafford today (6th of May) with Multi Ch Banana Bender Benjamin Buford Blue (Imp Ita) and UK/AM Ch Kurpas Saving Grace Is Yarramans (Imp USA). We were delighted when Dr Goran Bodegard chose Grace as his BEST BITCH and BEST OF BREED, then under Mr Stuart Mallard she was shortlisted in the group and to top it all under Mrs Christina Chapman she was PASTORAL VETERAN GROUP 1. Many thanks to all judges involved in making this day so special, and to Andi Horwood for handling Grace. Ben also had a good day as he was RESERVE BEST DOG in the breed classes.
